GRWM | Mickey's Christmas Party

BackGround Info

My mom, Charlotte, and I went to Mickey’s Christmas Party a couple of weeks ago. Mickey’s Christmas Party is a ticketed event at Magic Kingdom that’s available in November and December. It includes treats, shows, parades, and other Christmas features. For example, Space Mountain plays Christmas-themed instrumentals with flashing lights. Of course, the park is already decorated as it is in the day. The parade is Christmas and winter-themed, so they include Christmas details in the floats like trees, presents, a gingerbread house, and Christmas treats. Characters wear winter versions of their outfits (Snow White wears a glittery holly leaf in her hair). The dancers are dressed to match too, with hockey players on “ice skates” and girls in elf costumes, and candy wigs. There was even an army of toy nutcrackers that marched by.

I found that most people wore classic Disney attire like athletic-wear and t shirts, but I saw a lot of people wearing Christmas jammies and outfits too. There were only a few other people who wore dresses.

Outfit Details

I wanted to dress up in a wintery outfit and wear my white, fluffy hat. Here are my outfit details:

Dress: I glued white faux fur from Hobby Lobby to this Miscreants dress (without the gloves and arm poofs).

Black tights from Target

Shoes: Dale Pointed Toe Suede Kitten Heel Pumps by Kate Spade (they can be found on Poshmark)

You can also wear pointed-toe flats or any other pair of black heels.

Hat: Aerie Fur Beanie It’s sold out, but I’ve linked some similar styles:

Purse: Site whose name I can’t remember—here are some similar options:

In regards to practicality, my outfit was very comfortable. The strapless dress, though soft, was perfect for the warmer daylight hours, and the hat and tights kept me warm when it got chillier. Technically, the only impractical piece of my outfit were my heels, but those were only half a centimeter high and were actually quite comfortable for the five hours we were there.

I say this to help readers who don’t like attention—I got a lot of looks while wearing this outfit. Some were just people who wanted to look, not necessarily negative or positive (and with the hat I was wearing, I expected that). At least one person thought it was weird that I wore heels to Disney. But I did get compliments from some very sweet Cast Members.
